As our speakers showed, there is a lot of potential to be reaped in the marriage of Community Choice and Electricity Storage. CCA staff, Storage developers and vendors, building owners and managers - all stand to gain, for the reasons below.
SDED will be continuing our efforts in this space. To influence what we do next, please join the conversation: give us your workshop feedback here and/or write us directly here.

Reason One: Buildings
You own or lease in a commercial building and have wondered whether adding Storage makes sense in your situation. A Community Choice program can make storage break-even sooner than you think. It might also make a good deal even better.
|
Reason Two: Generation
Renewable energy needs storage, to reach its highest penetration and maximum effectiveness. Community Choice programs can implement storage at locations that maximize value to developers, customers and community.
|
Reason Three: Community
When Community Choice programs procure low-cost, clean renewable energy from local generators, the community as a whole benefits, via bill savings, pollution reductions and local economic development.
