COMMUNITY EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

The City of Solana Beach - citizens, business and government - are leaders for a just economy and a fossil-free environment. Therefore, the San Diego Energy District is hosting its annual wine and membership soiree at Carruth's Cellars in the Solana Beach Cedros District. SDED is a 501(c)3 devoted to informing the public that there is a legal right in every local city to form an alternative public agency for the supply of more affordable and cleaner electricity than SDG&E supplies.

At the reception, you will have a chance to meet Peter Rumble, the CEO of California Clean Power. He is the featured guest. California Clean Power offered at no charge to the City of Solana Beach the development of a Community Energy Feasibility Study. Hear directly from Peter and from City leaders where they stand on Community Energy. SDED was instrumental over the course of several years in moving Solana Beach to be the first city to support the formation of a viable Community Energy District.

Also invited are leaders in California who were and are instrumental in getting the Marin Energy Authority, Sonoma Clean Power, Lancaster Choice Energy, CleanPowerSF and Peninsula Clean Energy up and running. As you can see, San Diego trails our clean energy friends in the north!

SDED welcomes new and existing members and the public to support the work of the San Diego Energy District at our event. Please RSVP today. SDED's work is to support every jurisdiction in San Diego and in the State to create a separate energy district independent of the local utility. Why? So, every ratepayer has choice in the supply of electric energy. Competition leads to lower energy prices. Californians lead in lowering emissions from dirty fuels like fracked natural gas that supplies the newly approved Encina and Otay Mesa power plants.

Become a local energy leader or a paid member of SDED. RSVP today.
