- "Community Choice Aggregation Feasibility Study" -- The CCA Feasibility Study will be presented to the City's "Sustainable Energy Advisory Board" (SEAB) on July 13. Come to this public meeting.
- Press coverage is increasing. See, for example, the San Diego Free Press June 22 and Voice of San Diego July 3. As well as the San Diego U-T on Sempra anti-CCA lobbying (February 16) and the Solana Beach vote (May 24).
- City Council Resolution -- City staff expects to bring a Resolution on Community Choice to the City Council before the end of 2017.
Do you want to get involved, to learn more and help out?
To make a difference in addressing climate change in your own community?
SDED's "Ambassador" Program may be for you.
What's the Deal
|
SDED's Ambassadors program is a volunteer-based "learning-for-doing" exchange. We teach you about Community Choice and topics under the "decarbonized electricity system" that SDED monitors. In return, like every small volunteer nonprofit, we have a bunch of areas where we ask for your time and help.
The possibilities include everything from helping with events and social media, to coordinating with local actions and partnering organizations, following press coverage, and even digging into new areas of policy and content. You too could become a "Subject Matter Expert" on element(s) of the emerging electricity system. |
How to Act
|
Email us at "coordinator@sandiegoenergydistrict.org". We'll send our Volunteer Questionnaire, with questions about your interests, skills, availability, etc. Once you return it, Outreach Coordinator Dan Falk will be in touch to schedule an introductory "Community Choice Basics" webinar and discussion.
The webinar describes Community Choice, SDED structure and activities, upcoming events and plans. Upon completion, you are an "Ambassador" and eligible to participate in SDED activities. All volunteer tasks are time-flexible and supported by SDED leadership. |
